Holland approves $13M Civic Center design

HOLLAND, MICH. - Expansion plans for the Holland Civic Center have been approved by city council.

Thursday, Oct. 19, council members approved the $13 million project's design. City leaders were trying to decide the scope of the project.

In the end, they decided to expand the reception hall area by 30 percent, at a cost of $1.2 million. But, they are holding off on an expansion of the farmer's market and building a new park.

The city council had to make a decision Thursday in order to meet the deadline for a low-interest loan program from the state.
