Deputies: Man shoots at ex-girlfriend, hides in woods

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- A man is facing several charges after investigators say he fired a gun at his ex-girlfriend.

It started around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Value Place Inn just off U.S. 31 and James Street in Holland Township.

Deputies say the man threatened the woman with a gun, then fired at her vehicle as she drove away. None of the bullets hit the woman or her vehicle.

Investigators soon tracked the man down to a home on 136th Avenue south of Quincy Street. The man ran out of the back door od the home and tried hiding in a wooded area. He was soon found by a police dog. The dog also found the man's gun.

The suspect is facing assault and weapons charges, in addition to a probation violation. He's expected to appear in court as soon as Monday. Deputies are not releasing his name until that court appearance.

Three other people were also arrested at the home on 136th Avenue for separate probation violations.
