Heavy flames destroy Holland area business

Fire guts Holland Township business

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MICH. - The owners of a lakeshore business will have to completely rebuild their shop after much of it was gutted by a fire Monday, Nov. 20.

Flames broke out around 3 a.m. at Graphix Signs and Embroidery near the corner of of East Lakewood Boulevard and 112th Avenue, between Holland and Zeeland.

While on scene we observed firefighters battling the flames defensively, from the outside of the building.

It's not clear yet what started the fire. It's believed that no one was inside when it started. As of 6:30 a.m. firefighters said they had the fire about 80% extinguished.

Holland Township and Zeeland's fire departments were on the scene.

The business offered embroidery, signs, screen printing, and promotional items. It has served West Michigan since 1991 and, according to its website, was one of the first businesses in Holland to introduce computer cut graphics for vehicles, boats, banners, construction signs and more.
