Holland man busted for driving on meth

PAW PAW, Mich. (WZZM) -- A Holland man is in the Van Buren County Jail after deputies say they pulled him over and found materials for a meth lab in his car.

Investigators spotted a car make a traffic violation around 4:15 p.m. Thursday near 72nd Street and 30th Avenue in Covert Township.

According to deputies, they tried pulling over the car when the man pulled into the driveway of someone's home. They did a field sobriety test and the man failed several of the exercises.

Investigators arrested the man for driving under the influence of meth.

They also say they found meth, meth lab materials, marijuana and ammunition in his car.

Thomas Spangler, 27, was also arrested on charges including driving on a suspended license and operating an unlicensed vehicle. He also has outstanding warrants from Ottawa and Berrien counties.

Spangler has a criminal history that includes convictions for breaking and entering and possession of stolen property in Ottawa and Van Buren counties.
