Local veteran delivers healing message post-election

The post-election healing process

ZEELAND, MICH. - It's been one week since the election ended and people are still coming to grips with the outcome.

Many Donald Trump supporters say they don't understand why people voted for Hillary Clinton.  And many Clinton supporters say they don't understand why people voted for Trump.

But Mike Kimber, a local veteran who voted for Trump, has a message for the other side.

"I feel like there needs to be a healing process, we all need to come together and say not everything is going to come our way but if we make our voices heard we can get some of our way and be together and be one, we may disagree on politics, we may have a different religion or race but that doesn't matter, we can still support each other and care about each other," says Kimber.

Other voters say the message from Clinton, Trump and President Obama post-election has helped the healing process.
