Man electrocuted in farming accident

ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 24 year old from Hopkins is in the hospital after being electrocuted during a farming accident between Hudsonville and Zeeland.

Ottawa County deputies say Jacob Elzinga was loading feed into a silo Saturday, July 22 on 56th Avenue between Quincy and Riley Streets.

Around 2 p.m. the boom of a truck he was using to do the work hit overhead wires, zapping Elzinga. He was taken to a local hospital with severe burns on his body.

Deputies were not able to say what condition Elzinga is in.
