Ottawa Co deputy hurt responding to crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A deputy with the Ottawa County Sheriff's department was injured responding to a call Thursday, July 20. 

According to the Ottawa County media line the deputy was hurt in crash while responding to a car vs bicycle accident.  

The car vs bicycle accident happened at Lakewood Boulevard and Beeline Road in Holland Township around 1 p.m.

A 17 year old driver was trying to turn right on a red light and hit the cyclist. The officer who was hit was responding to that call . 

While the officer was responding traffic was backed up and a woman tried to to get out by making a U-turn. She failed to see the officer's cruiser and hit the deputy. The driver who hit the officer, the cyclist and the officer were all injured in the crash but none of them had life-threatening injuries.
