Man in custody after 4 hour stand-off in Holland

The standoff ended with one man going to jail.

HOLLAND, MICH. - On person is in custody after a stand-off situation in Holland. 

It started at 2:15 a.m. at a home near Central Avenue and West 16th Street. Police were called on reports of a domestic assault involving a shotgun. 

Officers found that the suspect threatened the victim with the shotgun and then refused to come out of the home. After nearly 4 and a half hours, Holland Police's Special Enforcement Team was able to convince the suspect to come out. 

The 40-year-old Holland man was taken into custody and charged with felonious domestic assault. Authorities also searched the home for evidence and found long guns. 

Holland police are still investigating the situation and say the suspect will likely be arraigned on Monday.
