Woman critical after crash involving semi

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 53-year-old woman is in critical condition after pulling out in front of a semi truck in Holland Township Thursday morning.

Deputies say Heather Dewind stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of New Holland Street and 120th Avenue around 8 a.m. Nov. 3, before continuing into the path of the truck. The truck had the right-of-way and was unable to stop, t-boning the car on the passenger side.

Dewind, of West Olive, had to be extricated from her car. She is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

The driver of the semi, Douglas Spriensma of Coopersville, was not injured.
