KALAMAZOO, MICH. - Speed likely is to blame for a deadly crash at a Kalamazoo intersection.
Officers responded just after noon Sunday to Cork and South Burdick streets to find three cars in the intersection with three injured adults, according to a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety news release.
Rescuers began efforts to help the adults but one person died.
The two other victims were taken to a Kalamazoo hospital; one person reportedly is recovering from critical injuries while the other is in serious condition.
Their identities are not yet known.
Police say their early investigation shows one vehicle was heading north on Burdick when its driver ran the stop light and crashed into two other vehicles at high speed.
