Kalamazoo man faces charges after shooting, no one hurt

KALAMAZOO, MICH. - A 33-year-old Kalamazoo man is facing charges of assault with intent to commit murder after a shooting on the city's west side.

It happened around 4:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 on Lakesedge Drive, just south of Stadium Drive. Police were originally called out there for a large fight, but on the way, someone also told dispatchers that shots had been fired.

When they arrived, officers found a large crowd and they learned two males had gotten into a fight. One of them eventually pulled out a handgun and fired at two other people. No one was hit.

The officers found the suspect on Mason Street near Douglas Avenue where he was arrested.
