One person killed in Comstock Twp. hotel fire

Police are trying to identify the woman who died in a motel fire.

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MICH. - UPDATE Nov. 18, 8 p.m. Police have identified the victim as Aimee Sue Lambert, 46. Lambert is a resident of Kalamazoo and formerly from Nebraska. 

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly fire at a hotel in Comstock Township.

Deputies say the fire started just before 3 a.m. Saturday at the Comstock Motor Court Motel at 6302 King Hwy, which is located just east of Kalamazoo. 

When crews arrived on scene, they discovered a white woman, in her mid-40s, dead inside. 

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the fire along with Michigan State Police Fire Marshall and are attempting to identify the woman in this case and determine the cause of the fire.

The investigation is on going at this time and anyone with information concerning the fire is asked to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office at 269-383-8821.
