Ramona Park Beach closing for two days

PORTAGE, MICH. - Ramona Park Beach is closing for two days this week as crews fight invasive plants.  A weed control chemical will be applied to Long Lake on June 14, 2017 in Portage and Pavilion Township.

The city says they are using caution and closing the beach on the 14th and 15th despite the contractor stating there are no swimming restrictions associated with the chemical. The beach will re-open on Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Questions on the Long Lake chemical weed control program and the application can be directed to John Speeter, the Long Lake Governmental Lake Board Chairperson, at (269) 327-7145 or Andy Tomaszewski, from PLM Lake & Land Management Corporation, at (616) 891-1294, ext. 2002.
