KALAMAZOO, MICH. - The rainy and snowy weather was not enough to keep Broncos fans away.
Western Michigan hosted ESPN’s "College GameDay" on Saturday, Nov. 19, and students and fans from all across the state came out by the masses.
"It’s 'GameDay.' It’s 'GameDay,' you got to come," Broncos fan Conner Rose said.
"The 'Zoo' is ready. Bring it on, the 'Zoo' is ready for this attention baby!” WMU senior Mark Ward said.
The attention is definitely on Western Michigan after going undefeated for the first time in its football history.
"It’s very good for obviously the University, it’s good for the Mid-American conference, you know it’s good for Kalamazoo, the region, the area," WMU President John Dunn said.
"It's a milestone for sure," Rose said.
"When you got to MSU and wear Broncos, it’s row the boat it’s spread throughout Michigan it’s amazing what an undefeated football team can do to not only just the community but just like the state itself," another fan said.
The fans believe it’s all thanks to Coach P.J. Fleck.
"We went from 1-11 and now we’re here, P.J. Fleck is the man, he’s the best coach that ever was and now we’re here rowing the boat," senior Eric Vanspronsen said.
"We got here at what 5? 5 in the morning and I’m 700 people deep in the line and this is 100 percent because of Coach P.J. Coach P.J. is taking us all the way man. He talks about motivating that team, he’s motivating an entire town in Kalamazoo right now," Ward said.
"It's a great day to be a Bronco!” President Dunn said.
The Broncos' next game is on Friday Nov. 25, at home against the Toledo Rockets at 5 pm.
