Kentwood man charged with accosting a child

KENTWOOD, MICH. - A Kentwood man accused of having inappropriate relations with a child is facing charges.

Taurean Pruitt, 25, is officially charged with three counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes, which is a four year felony, and two counts of 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Pruitt was a part-time employee at the Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids but resigned after he was charged.

Executive Director Rick Huisman tells WZZM 13 the incident did not happen at any of the Boys and Girls Club facilities and did not involve children from the program. Huisman says he sent a letter home to parents to assure them that their children are in a safe place.

Kentwood police tell us that they only know of one victim at this time, but will continue to investigate the case.
