Lakeshore Resource Network loses building just days after groundbreaking

LUDINGTON, MICH. - Just two days after the groundbreaking at the future site of Lakeshore Resource Network in Ludington, the building was destroyed in a fire.  A call came into the Mason-Oceana 911 Center at 3:49 am Friday morning reporting the fire.

Ludington firefighters were able to put out the fire, but they say the former site of Lakeshore Lumber was a complete loss.  The Ludington Daily News reports The Lakeshore Resource Network is a combined local food pantry and hub to help area agencies.

No one was injured in the fire and now officials are working to determine a possible cause.
The State Fire Marshal is expected at the scene early next week.

The Ludington Police Department is asking anyone with information on the fire to call the Mason-Oceana 911 Center at (231) 869-5858.
