PARK TOWNSHIP, MICH. - An investigation is underway after a 27-year-old Lansing man drowned Saturday afternoon at Holland State Park.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's department was called to the park just after 6:30 p.m. for a possible water rescue. When they arrived on scene, bystanders who pulled the man from the water were performing CPR. He was then taken to the hospital, where he died.
Officials are waiting to identify him until his family can be notified.
Police say waves were 1-2 feet at the time, the water temperature was around 60 degrees and the yellow "caution" flags were flying.
The incident remains under investigation.
