Dutch Girl Brewery suddenly closes in Spring Lake

A West Michigan brewery that opened less than two years ago is now permanently closed.

SPRING LAKE, MICH. - Dutch Girl Brewery announced on its Facebook page Tuesday, March 14, the doors are permanently closed -- effective immediately.

The closing comes just shy of two years after the business opened on M-104 in Spring Lake.

The microbrewery crafted its own beers and served food to locals coming to and from Grand Rapids to the Lakeshore.

The post reads in part, "Thank you to our faithful mug club members and locals! We met so many great people we now call friends. Lastly, to our families who supported us. You were a sounding board and our biggest fans. Sincerely, Kelly & Luke."

The future of the space remains uncertain.

The owners are asking a "negotiable" price of $350,000 for the brewery. They say the staff would be interested in remaining intact. Serious buyers are asked to contact Dutch Girl Brewery via Facebook message.
