Laywers clear way for Sean Phillips trial

LUDINGTON, MICH. - The trial will go on for a Mason County man accused in the 2011 murder of his infant daughter.

Lawyers for Sean Phillips met with prosecutors Tuesday in the Mason County Courthouse in Ludington. Officials tell us no plea deal was made.
Phillips is accused of killing his then four-month-old daughter Katherine, also known as Baby Kate. She was last seen alive in Ludington on June 29, 2011. 
Kate's body has never been found.
Phillips was charged with her murder in 2013. He is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the child's unlawful imprisonment.
His murder trial is scheduled to begin on September 26, and it's expected to last three weeks.
