GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Investigators from the Grand Rapids Police Department are looking into two separate motorcycle accidents that seriously injured two men. They happened within two hours of one another on Tuesday night, Oct. 4, 2016.

Around 9 p.m. police say a motorcycle was headed west on Fulton Street in downtown Grand Rapids. It crashed into an eastbound car that was turning north onto Monroe Avenue near The B.O.B.

An 18-year-old man from Walker on that motorcycle was taken to a local hospital. Investigators say the motorcycle rider may have been speeding.

The second accident happened around 10:41 p.m. on Bridge Street near Marcella Avenue, on the city's northwest side. Police say a motorcycle headed west on Bridge crossed the centerline into the eastbound lanes before hitting the curb and then crashing into a few trees.

The 30-year-old rider was taken to the hospital. Alcohol is believed to be involved in the second crash.
