BYRON CENTER, MICH. - The Kent County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal two-car accident in Byron Center.
Deputies on scene say the deceased, Cindy Drier, 59 of Hudsonville, was traveling eastbound on 76th Street just before 6 a.m. Thursday when she failed to stop at the blinking red light at Byron Center Avenue.
Drier, in an Oldsmobile Intrigue, was hit in the intersection by a Ford 150. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Luis Rivera Ortiz, 33 of Wyoming, was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff's Department.
