More people taking Active Commute Week pledge

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Active Commute Week continues through June 16, and West Michigan seems to be participating at a higher rate than ever before.

44 employers and 380 people are taking part in Active Commute Week, which is in its sixth year.

Leaders from The Rapid bus line are asking people to bike, walk, and run to work, or just to share a ride. The goal is to raise awareness about health and the economic and environmental benefits of active travel.

If you'd like to start logging your trips, visit the effort's website.
