A 22-year-old Caledonia man died after a motorcycle accident in Caledonia Township.

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, MICH. - Speed is considered a factor in a crash that killed a motorcyclist Sunday afternoon in southeast Kent County.

An early investigation indicates the motorcycle, driven by 22-year-old Seth Wyma of Caledonia, was traveling westbound on 84th Street SE near Thornapple River Drive when he crashed into the back of a Jeep, according to a Kent County Sheriff's Department news release.

Wyma died at the scene of the crash around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, March 5.

Witnesses told police Wyma was traveling at a high speed before it hit the Jeep. It was driven by 19-year-old Tobias DeGroote of Middleville, the release states.

DeGroote was not hurt.

An Aero Med helicopter was called to respond but later was not needed as an ambulance arrived.
