The Right Place plans to add 5,500 jobs

(WZZM) - The Right Place is announcing a new three-year plan which includes bringing more than 5,000 jobs to West Michigan.

In the next three years, The Right Place plans to add 5,500 new jobs to Greater Grand Rapids, along with $390 million in new investment, plus $170 million in new payroll.

This plan picks up where a five-year plan left off. It recently concluded with 11,000 new jobs added, $750 million in new investment, and $370 million in new payroll. All of these results are almost double the original goals which were set in October 2008.

"We are very much looking forward to continuing the growth pattern we're on, and continue to move the region economically forward...we want to build on the success we just had," saidPresident and CEO Birgit Klohs.

Klohsbelievesif her organization could add jobs during a recession, the goals she has set to accomplish by the end of 2016 could even be surpassed.
