West Michigan pre-schoolers test toys

Dan Harland and Lauren Stanton tell us about the toy testing program going on at the Goddard School in Grandville.

GRANDVILLE, MICH. - Testing toys may sound like a dream come true for kids. That dream is becoming a reality for some pre-schoolers in southwest Kent County.

The Goddard School's southwest campus serves students in the Grandville, Wyoming and Byron Center areas. This week, Goddard is amongst 50 schools across the country where students are testing out toys ahead of the holiday season.

"The feedback will come in really two ways from the children," said Goddard owner Lindsey Moore.

"The teachers will be making documentation of their play, and then the feedback will also come from the children explaining why they like the toy, why they're having fun, what makes them like the toy, and they'll be documenting that feedback as well."

The students will cast their votes to determine the top 10 pre-schooler approved toys. Those will be announced on November 1st.
