Michigan company helping Flint recycle

Young's Environmental Cleanup is helping collect the bottles.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Many people are asking what will happen to all of the plastic bottles in Flint.

Young's Environmental Cleanup has a location in Flint, as well as West Michigan, and has placed multiple bins across Flint to collect bottles.  They don't want one crisis to create another and are helping for free.

"A plastic water bottle weighs .4 ounces," said manager Eric Beckman. "We collected out of one of our bins in one day 680 pounds worth of bottles; it filled a 20-yard bin."

The company doesn't even specialize in recycling but felt it had to do something for the people of Flint.
