Child killed after buggy crash

BLOOMER TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 10 year old has died after suffering serious injuries is a buggy vs. SUV crash.

Police reported to the crash just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, on Fenwick Road near Miner Road.

A second child involved, a 13 year old, was taken to an area hospital before being flown by Aero Med helicopter to Grand Rapids' Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The teenager is listed in stable condition.

Police identified the driver of the SUV as 23-year-old Tiffany Christiansen of Hubbarston, Mich.; she and her 5-year-old passenger were not hurt.

It's not believed speed is a factor in the crash, however, the angle of the bright sun might have impacted the driver's vision.

The horse, also seriously injured, was euthanized by its owners.
