ENSLEY TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 39-year-old man died from falling from a hunting tree standing in Newaygo County.
The victim, identified as Domingo Castro Jr. of Sand Lake, was building the stand with friends and family when he lost his balance and fell from the tree, according to a Michigan State Police news release.
Police were called to the scene just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.
Castro was pronounced dead about a half-hour later despite CPR efforts to save him.
This is the second reported death of a man falling from a tree stand this weekend.
