Michigan's fall colors are the best and Nikon Inc. can back that up.
For the second year in a row, Nikon named Michigan the No. 1 spot for "capturing stunning images of beautiful fall foliage."
Nikon recently asked photographers to post their fall photos using hashtags such as #NikonFallMI on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Nikon used the hashtags to tally photos from each state to determine a winner of its Fall Foliage campaign.
“The vibrant colors of fall offer photographers of all levels an opportunity to capture this season’s magnificence," said Lisa Baxt, Associate General Manager of Communications, Nikon Inc in a press release.
Nikon received nearly 10,000 entries from across the county, with 1,240 of those photos shot in the Great Lakes state.
"Notable images showcased gorgeous photos of the Great Lakes surrounded by warm tones, wildlife and serene landscapes blanketed with vibrant foliage," according to a Nikon release.
New York, a former champion, came in second to Michigan.
