Woman faces misdemeanor for horse-drawn buggy crash that killed 10-year-old

BLOOMER TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A 24-year-old Hubbardston woman has been arrested and charged in connection to a horse-drawn buggy crash in March that resulted in the death of a 10-year-old child.

Tiffany Christiansen was charged with committing a moving violation that caused death after she hit a horse and buggy with two Carson City children inside -- the 10-year-old and his 13-year-old sibling. Both were critically injured at the time of the crash. The 10-year-old died two days after the crash.

According to a news release from the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office, the charge is a misdemeanor with a maximum of one year in jail.

Christiansen is currently out on bond.
