Midwest United FC breaks ground on new facility

The Midwest United FC is one step closer to opening their new home fields in Kentwood.

An official groundbreaking was held Thursday at the new facility on 36th St. although the fields are already about halfway done.

The 110 team soccer club won't be the only ones to use the fields.

Grand Rapids FC will use the facility as a training facility and ultimate Frisbees teams will play there as well.

The new facility is expected to open in the spring if the weather cooperates.
