Emmitt's family created a Facebook page to keep the community updated on his recovery. His sister, Faith, recently posted to Facebook that she and her family hold "no ill will" towards the driver and that he is in their thoughts.

Emmitt was hit by a car on M-20 near Dickinson Avenue on Monday, June 5. He was airlifted by Aero Med helicopter to a Grand Rapids hospital.

The crash remains under investigation -- the driver has yet to come forward.
