1 man injured, suspect still at large after overnight shooting in Muskegon

Overnight shooting in Musekgon

MUSKEGON, MICH. - Police in Muskegon are searching for the suspect in an overnight shooting that left one man injured.

According to a news release from the Muskegon Police Department, just before 3 a.m. on June 9, officers found a 41-year-old Muskegon Heights man outside suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso outside of a home on Amity Avenue, near Cedar Street and Myrtle Avenue. 

The victim is undergoing treatment for his injuries. 

Police do not think the shooting was a random act and while the Muskegon County Sheriff's K9 Unit provided search assistance, the suspect was not found and no arrests were made.

Police say they will continue to investigate and ask that anyone with information on this incident to call Muskegon Police Department at 231-724-6750 or Silent Observer at 231-722-7463.
