MUSKEGON, MICH. - Muskegon radio station 103.7 The Beat brought members of the community together Tuesday, Nov. 21 for an annual event held for 16 years in a row.
The big food giveaway included 150 turkeys and other side items to host a great meal.
Radio station employees and volunteers filled the baskets of community members in need of food for Thanksgiving.
"It is amazing the need for food and how many families are barely making it," said Paul Allen Billings, 103.7 Owner and General Manager.
"This just supplements what they have going on in their lives, every little bit adds up," said Billings.
The station has given away more than 2,500 turkeys to listeners and community members since starting the event in 2001.
Those receiving the gift were thankful for the station' efforts.
"We going to put them in the oven play games and enjoy the festivities," said Tommy Stewart.
