Father of Jessica Heeringa's son faces drug charges

MUSKEGON, Mich. WZZM) -- Less than three weeks after retaining custody of Jessica Heeringa's son, the boy's father is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on marijuana delivery charges.

Dakotah Quail-Dyer, 30, faces arraignment today on three counts of selling marijuana. He is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on a $60,000 bond for three separate charges.

Quail-Dyer was arrested Wednesday. During a court hearing last month, a Muskegon County judge ruled that Quail-Dyer will continue to have physical custody of Jessica Heeringa's four-year-old son, Zevyn.

Quail-Dyer, who is the boy's father, is fighting to retain custody of the child he had with Heeringa. Jessica's half-sister, Samantha Heeringa was granted visitation rights to Zevyn every other weekend.

Jessica Heeringa has been missing for more than a year. She was last seen working working the night shift at the Exxon Mobil station on Sternberg Road on April 26, 2013.
