Land Bank open house event attracts interested bidders

Muskegon Land Bank tours

MUSKEGON COUNTY, MICH. - The Muskegon County Land Bank will auction off one dozen tax foreclosed homes Friday, July 28.

On Wednesday, six of the homes were opened for inspection by prospective bidders.

The Land Bank believes in the hands of the right new owners, the homes can be saved. If not, most will be demolished.

The auction is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at 97 East Apple Avenue, in room 113. All of the homes are in the cities of Muskegon and Muskegon Heights.

Electrical service to all the homes has been turned off, so potential bidders are asked to bring a flashlight.

Bidders can't have outstanding taxes, the homes must be brought up to occupancy within one year, and also can't be resold for three years.

Bidding begins at $1,000.
