Plainfield Township water customers asked not to water lawns

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MICH. - The Plainfield Township Water Department is asking customers not to water their lawns until further notice.

Water treatment plant supervisor Don Petrovich says there was a major power outage at the plant on Monday June 12.

The outage caused them to fall behind on water. Petrovich says, "We cannot catch up if people are watering their lawns."

The Plainfield Township Water Department serves 40,000 people in Plainfield Township, Alpine Township, portions of Grand Rapids Township, Algoma Township, as well as a small part of the city of Walker.
