Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith seen at 2 downtown Grand Rapids bars

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - One night before he's to perform at the Van Andel, Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith was reportedly seen at two Grand Rapids bars Saturday night -- and he even played a little.

According to WGRD 97.9, people enjoying a drink and live music at Flanagan's Irish Pub downtown were shocked to see Smith walk in Saturday night. He decided to hop on the drums with the band that was playing and joined them for a cover of the Peppers' song "Under the Bridge."

WGRD also says that Smith went next door to Mojo's Dueling Piano Bar and played the drums there as well.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are in Grand Rapids for a performance at the Van Andel, Sunday June 25. They are currently on a world tour for their newest album "The Getaway."

RHCP lead vocals, Anthony Kiedis, is a native to Grand Rapids.
