Donations dumped outside North Kent Connect as no one could receive them

There's a time and a place for everything-- that includes your clothes and furniture donations.

ROCKFORD, MICH., - Employees at the nonprofit North Kent Connect were greeted by overturned couches and boxes full of donations Tuesday, May 30.

The Memorial Day weekend evidently inspired many to make donations, unfortunately, there was no one at the facility to actually receive them.

The facility is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those are the only times that donations are accepted and those donations are then tax deductible.

The facility's executive director, Claire Guisfredi, said this is not the first time this has happened to them.

Guisfredi said these donations often end up being unusable and takes money out of the Connect's budget to have it removed.
