ROCKFORD, MICH. - Losing anyone in your family, including a pet, can be emotional and that's especially true for one Rockford family.
Rockford resident Ashley Nelson, heard a loud noise late Wednesday night. When she walked outside she discovered a tree in her neighbors yard fell and spooked four of her horses away.
"They took off like lightning bolts," Nelson said.
They spent hours searching the area and found one of the mini horses along the road. But by Thursday afternoon, three remained missing.
"I'm nervous, I feel hopeless, I want my babies back,"Nelson said as she fought back the tears.
"Artimus (Artie) he's my heart and soul," she said as she spoke about one of the horses. "I lost my childhood pony a few years ago and then got him and he really helped heal my heart and I want him back."
Nelson took to social media to spread the word, and it worked. She received a call from someone who spotted two of them, including Artie.
"The girls were running through the house saying 'We have horses in the backyard' I thought they were joking," Denise Grinnell , the woman who found the horses said. "I looked out and sure enough there they were."
A discovery that left Nelson overwhelmed with emotion.
"Ecstatic, shaking, excited," she said as she clutched on to Artie. "Now we just got to find one more."
The Nelsons wanted to thank all who have helped out in the search.
