Fire kills 64-year-old woman in Rockford

Fatal fire in Rockford

ROCKFORD, MICH. - One person has died after a fire in Rockford. The fire was reported at 4:39 p.m. Friday, June 2 on the 6400 block of Fricke Court according to Kent County Dispatch. 

The fire department on scene tells us a 65-year-old man was in the yard and informed authorities that his 64-year-old wife was trapped inside. By the time the fire departments, both Kent County and Cannon Township, could gain access, the wife was dead.

The husband was taken the hospital for injuries but has been released. 

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the name of victim will not be released until the family has been notified.
