Rockford 5th graders dress as wax statues for fundraiser

ROCKFORD, Mich. (WZZM) -- A group of Rockford 5th grade students from Belmont Elementary School brought influential historical people to life as they helped raise money for a fundraiser event.

The students chose famous people to dress up as and then posed like a wax statue for their fundraiser event. They represented people like Benjamin Franklin, Jackie Robinson, Lucille Ball and Billie Jean King to name a few.

The children unfroze to give a short speech about who they represent when someone put money in a box in front of them.

The money they raised helps pay for class field trips and for their graduation.
