GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Kent County Health Department says that a norovirus is responsible for an illness that struck Easter brunch diners at a Cascade Township restaurant.

Of the 240 people who have been interviewed by the health department who at Noto's Old World Italian Restaurant on 28th Street SE, 166 had symptoms of the illness, including vomiting and diarrhea.  The health department says the restaurant has properly cleaned and sanitized the facility since the outbreak.

According to the health department, norovirus is transmitted from person to person and that someone in the restaurant that day brought the virus to the brunch.  The precise source of the illness is not yet known.
