Tombstone motorcycle hearse owned by Jay Howard of Battle Creek.
WALKER, Mich. (WZZM) -- Looking for a way to give the biker in your family a send-off he or she would love? Try the motorcycle hearse.
Jay Howard is the owner of Hometown Hearse, a Battle Creek business that offers families the option of having a Harley Davidson carry their loved ones to their funerals in a caisson.
Howard had his vehicle on display at a swap meet Sunday at the DeltaPlex in Walker. He bought the three-wheeled bike with its hearse trailer from a custom builder in Pennsylvania. He says it's one of 20 currently in use around the U.S.
Howard says in the 30 days he's owned the bike, he's used it in four funerals. His business is part of a national franchise. Howard's territory covers West Michigan and portions of Illinois and Indiana.
