25 arrested in Kent County sex offender sweep

LANSING, Mich. (WZZM) - The Michigan State Police announced the arrest of 25 sex offenders in Kent County who were not in compliance with the Michigan's Sex Offender Registration Act.

The sweep took place October 27th and 28th.  Five other fugitives were located during the sweep, which used officers from the state police, U.S. Marshals, Kent County Sheriff's Dept., Grand Rapids Police Dept., Grand Rapids Community College Dept. of Public Safety, Grandville Police, Kentwood Police and Wyoming Police Depts.

The sweeps include arrests on outstanding warrants for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degree criminal sexual conduct, indecent exposure, obscene conduct and failure to change an address or verify an address in the Sex Offender Registry.
