(WZZM)- Grand Valley State University's Seidman College of Business will help some of the university's neediest students.

Some of the annual dues money from the college's Advisory Board members will be given to students who were expecting the Promise Scholarship from the state. About $10,000 will be distributed. Michigan dropped the scholarship program this fall because of the budget crisis.

On Monday, Ferris State University announced it would cover more than $1 million its students lost when the scholarship program was cut.
