2 teens injured after crash in Jamestown Township

JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, MICH. - Two teens were pinned in their car after a crash in Jamestown Township on Friday.

Sixteen-year-old Anya Zwier, of Wyoming, was driving southbound on 8th Avenue at Adams Street, around 7:40 a.m. on Friday, Mar. 3, when she was struck by a Jeep Liberty. Zwier had one passenger, Helen Schmid, 17, of Grand Rapids, in her car with her at the time of the crash.

Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies say that Zwier pulled out in the path of the Jeep Liberty, driven by Lena Keener, 60, of Hudsonville.

Deputies say Zweir and Schmid were pinned in Zwier's vehicle and needed to be cut out by firefighters. They were both taken to Spectrum Hospital to treat injuries. They are expected to recover.

Neither Keeners nor her two passengers, Elizabeth, 13, and Rebecca, 12, were injured in the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
