Veterans Day freebies in West Michigan

WEST MICHIGAN - Veterans Day should be every day -- but since only one day is devoted to it, we want to make sure you know about freebies.

Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11 and a variety of restaurants and stores are offering free deals or discounts at participating locations. Make sure you carry your proof of service or valid military ID.

In honor of their services, veterans and active duty military get a free meal and a $5 coupon to use on their next visit. More details: Applebee's

Ben's Soft Pretzels

This year, the restaurant will honor veterans with a choice of select free menu items on Nov. 11, at all Bob Evans restaurants. Along with serving a free meal on Veterans Day, Bob Evans is also offering a 10 percent discount to all veterans and active duty military from Nov. 12 through Dec. 31, for dine-in and carryout purchases. From 3 p.m. – close, veterans, active duty members, and military spouses can buy one small burrito, bowl, or salad and get one free. More details: Chipotle

Chuck E Cheese

With a Uniformed Service I.D. or Common Access Card, current and former military personnel can gobble down a free personal pizza. More details: Chuck E Cheese

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Grand Rapids Brewing Company is offering a free meal to Veterans and active-duty military personnel. Must show proof of service or valid military ID. Also, from 3-7 p.m. GRBC will have a representative from the Michigan Veterans Affair Agency to provide various resources about programs and benefits available to Michigan Veterans. Offering a free doughnut and small coffee to all those served or currently are serving on Veterans Day. This Veterans Day, veterans, active and reserve component service members, and their families enjoy free admission to USACE-operated recreation areas. This includes access to lakes and river projects, as well as swimming beach and boat launch fees. More details: Army Corps of Engineers

To say thank you for their courageous service to our country, Empire Beauty School is offering complimentary haircuts to all Veterans and current armed forces personnel at all Empire student salons this week. My Community Dental Centers

Free Dental Day on Friday, Nov. 11. The event will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the dental center located at 1535 Lincoln Rd. in Allegan. The event exemplifies MCDC's desire to give back to the community and is in honor of our Veterans and those in need who have been unable to receive dental care.
