Vehicle flips in attempt to avoid traffic under Walker bridge

WALKER, MICH. - An 84-year-old man is OK but cut up while trying to avoid traffic underneath a rail crossing.

Fire officials say man was coming up to the bridge around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, on Bristol Avenue near Pannell Street NW when he claims his brakes went out. Opposing traffic does not have a stop sign, so in an attempt to avoid it, the man swerved right and up the embankment.

His vehicle then landed on its roof.

The vehicle landed near the car of a woman in her 20s, and she was not hurt.
