Montague High School teacher turns self in on sexual conduct charge

A high school teacher accused of having sex with a student has turned himself in to police.

MONTAGUE, MICH. - Montague High School physical education teacher Ryan Wright turned himself in amid allegations he had a sexual relationship with a student.

Records show Wright was arrested Saturday, April 1, and is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. It's alleged Wright was involved in a sex act with a student at the school sometime between June 2016 and February 2017.

The prosecutor's office earlier said Wright was in Florida, and he agreed to report to police within 24 hours.

Wright, 37, is scheduled to be arraigned on the conduct charge Monday.

He was placed on paid administrative leave on March 3 as an investigation got underway.
